HOOP member and supporter, Edwina Clarke (Ed) plucked up the courage and raised a gigantic £435 for HOOP when she took up the abseiling challenge from a water tower during an event organsised by The Rotary Club of Harlow Rye.
‘Hoop has given me so much since I became a member so I decided I wanted to give something back. The support I have received since becoming a member has been amazing. There is always someone on the Facebook group to chat to and share ideas with. It’s not just about the weight loss – it’s a community and you never feel you are on your journey alone. I also applaud the support that Hoop is pledging to help young obese people. It is just so important.’
Edwina took the leap of faith with her two sons Freddie and Max (age 7 and 8) supporting her from the ground below.
‘It was great to have them at the bottom. I have to admit I was terrified, but I am so proud that I did it. My next project is to continue to get fitter and then I think I’ll go for the walk across the O2!’
Edwina’s Just Giving page is still open if you would like to add to her total.
