Obesity charity HOOP (Helping Overcome Obesity Problems) UK has published freedom of information (FOI) reports for the last three years. Our 2014 report showed a lack of investment in tackling obesity and the 2015 report highlighted the fact that despite much talk, action on obesity is low and obesity is the poor relation to other public health issues.
Our 2016 report is based on a FOI survey carried out with Care Commissioning Groups (CCG’s) to investigate spend on obesity treatment services.
HOOP has heard from its members loud and clear that quality services are not available to help them. These reports support our members experiences. HOOP therefore calls on both local and Central Government to consider carefully the findings of our reports and take immediate action.
